High Barns – In August we have a THS at High Barns Farm, near Kendal. This will be the first Club THS at this venue.

The owners have kindly provided the following short introduction to their site  —

“Mark, Rachel, Luke and Emily very much look forward to welcoming you to the High Barns. We are the 3rd generation of family to farm at High Barns which is a Levens Hall Estate Farm. The farm is 220 acres of pasture and arable land. We rear dairy cattle here and also produce hay and haylage which we sell to the equestrian market and farmers. The farm house and barn date back to 1612 and there is said to be an underground tunnel for priests from Levens Hall to the farm – but we’ve not found it yet! The farm is ideally situated at the gateway to Lakes but far enough away to enjoy the peaceful countryside surrounding. There’s some fantastic local walks round Leven Park and onto Heversham Head which enjoys stunning views across the Kent Estuary. Local amenities can be found in Milnthorpe which has several takeaways, pubs and Booth’s supermarket. Even closer is Levens Village which has a village store, play-ground and pub. We look forward to meeting you all soon”
